They way is not difficult for those who have no preference… and yet it can take a little planning!
Approximately one week before your arrival date, you will receive a notice on WhatsApp coordinating the group’s transportation. Please review your options prior.
If you are coming by car, please inform us of your expected arrival time and if you can pick up others from Arles-sur-Tech. For those requiring to be picked up and dropped off, let us know what time you plan to be in Arles-Sur-Tech. Timing is based on the group’s needs and we may not always be able to meet you at your preferred time.
Please arrange your travel so that you do not arrive at night.
Pickup from Arles-sur-Tech
During Scheduled Gatherings, pickups from Arles-sur-Tech are available only on the first and last day of each Gathering. Public buses run from Perpignan Bus Station (next to the train station) to Arles-sur-Tech, taking about 1 hour.
Weekdays: Buses leave Perpignan 5-6 times daily.
Sundays & Holidays: Service is reduced or unavailable.
Review the bus schedule at Le Département 66 or Rome 2 Rio.
There is a 10 euro transportation fee (one way) for pickup and drop-off.
Taxis to Terre de Sacha
If you are arriving outside of the scheduled pick-up and drop-off dates, you may need to arrange a taxi. While a taxi will take you to Terre de Sacha, it’s likely that they will only drive as far as the driveway. Taxi service from Corsavy is limited, so arrangements from Perpignan may be necessary. For your convenience, you may wish to pre-arrange a taxi, particularly if traveling on weekends and French holidays.
Travel By Car
Directions to TdS can be found by using Google Maps and searching for “Can Pinous, 66150 Corsavy.” When you reach Can Pinous, you will see a sign on the right for “Terre de Sacha” at the start of our driveway. The driveway is 1.5 km long and crosses two small streams. Please travel slowly and, if at all possible, avoid driving at night.
If you arrive after dark, park in the lot on the left and walk the last 100 meters to the house. If it’s still light, you may be able to drive further, but check in prior as the driveway conditions near the house are not always ideal.
By Air
Closest Airport: Perpignan
Other Options: Girona Airport, Toulouse, and Barcelona Airport (nearest large airport)
From these airports, bus and train options are available via Rome 2 Rio.
By Train (via Barcelona)
Fly into Barcelona and take the train to Perpignan. Take the RENFE train from Barcelona Airport and get off at Estació de Sants (Sants Estació, also known as Barcelona Sants station). This journey takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can also take a taxi or bus to the train station, but it may take longer and be more expensive.
From Barcelona Sants, there are a few direct trains to Perpignan. Book early, particularly during the holiday season.
By Bus (via Barcelona)
There are many buses from Barcelona to Perpignan. Check options at Rome 2 Rio. Buses can run late, especially on Fridays and holidays, so plan for potential delays.
Take the airport bus to Placa de Catalunya, the final stop. From there, either take a taxi or walk 20 minutes to Barcelona Nord Station. Buses offer multiple options, and while tickets may be available at the station, purchasing a ticket in advance is cheaper and guarantees a seat during peak seasons.
Hotel Stay in Perpignan
Many traveling from afar opt to stay one evening in Perpignan. There are many hotel options near the bus station and the nearby historical part of the city.
